He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Shanley and Marjorie Shanley (Pulver); his brothers, Martin Shanley, Francis Shanley and Douglas Shanley; and his grandson Christopher Grover.
He is survived by: his spouse Shirley Fingar of John's Church; his children, Gail Grover (Pete), Scott Shanley (Krista) and Tracy Shanley; his grandchildren, Kevin Grover (Nicole), Jordan Shanley, Alexa Shanley, Nathan Tomlinson (Kellie), Karl Russell and Brooke Hapeman; his great grandchildren, Ben, Faye, Aria, Evelina, Kalven, Payton, Ellie, Averee and Paige; and his brothers, Allan Shanley, Clarence Shanley and Tom Scism.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Burnett and White Funeral Home (7461 S Broadway, Red Hook, NY 12571). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Burnett & White Funeral Home (7461 S Broadway, Red Hook, NY 12571).
