He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Patricia A. Cowell; his children, Christopher Cowell (Effie), Cynthia Weigel (Dan), Nicole Sciarrino (Tom), Jessica Krehan, Chad Cowell and Brianna Cowell (Karen); his grandchildren, Kevin (Marissa), Autumn, Michael (Ashley), Griffin, Aidan, Braden and Harper; his parents, Alvin Cowell and Jean Cowell; and his brothers, Douglas Cowell (Maryellen) and William Cowell (late Elaine). He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.
