He was predeceased by: his parents, Blaine Sr. Lilac and Ruth Lilac; and his brother Blaine. He is survived by: his wife Blair L. Lilac; his son Dean Lilac, Jr.; his grandson Wesley Lilac; his mother-in-law Marjorie Pitz (late Edward J.); his siblings-in-law, Valerie Pitz and Edward Pitz (Claudette); his nieces and nephews, Debra Holahan (Bill), Blaine Lilac III (Kay), Caitlin Burns (Robert), Marissa Salhany (Nicholas) and Benjamin Vangorp (Dorothy); his great-niece Molly Matthews (Daniel); and his great-nephews, Bradley and Joshua Lilac.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice.
