She was predeceased by: her children, Thomas Hayes and Debra Hayes. She is survived by: her daughters, Felicia Hayes of Boston, MA and Susan Tucker of Troy, NY; her grandchildren, Amani Ariel-Wamala (Jess) and Rami Hayes Messinger; and her great grandchild Nyah.
She volunteered with the American Cancer Society, and whenever she encountered someone in need, she didn't look away.
