She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Frank Schmitt; her daughter Colleen Schmitt (Chris Schild) of Clifton Park; her grandson Caden Schmitt Schild; her parents, Irene Abele and Harry Abele; her brothers, Harry Jr. and Jack; her friends, Mary G, Gloria D, Gert A, Sue W, Mabel M. Besides Colleen and Chris; her granddaughter Chloe Schmitt Schild; her daughter Marlene Schmitt Colclough (Rick Colclough) of Guilderland; her parents-in-law, Al Schmitt, Marty Denninger and Margaret Abele; her friends, Josie B and Shirley N; and her grandson Vadim. She was also cherished by nieces and nephews, godchildren.

COVID restrictions allow a safely distanced funeral Mass to be celebrated at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Watervliet, on Saturday February 27, 2021 at 11 a. m. with Rev. Ed Deimeke officiating.
