John Flanigan Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Flanigan (Troy, New York), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 8, 2025 at the age of 70. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of John Flanigan to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Flanigan and Shirley Flanigan; his brother Robert; his wife Patricia; his father-in-law Jim Sisk; and his brother-in-law Mark Milanese.

He is survived by: his daughters, EJ Flanigan (Drew), Dannielle Flanigan-Noyes (Rick), Jaclyn Carley (Kevin), Melissa Phillips (James) and Samantha Stillman (Kip); his grandchildren, Claire, Libby, Patrick, Mae and Sadhbh; and his siblings, Sharon Milanese and Matt Flanigan (Toni). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home (8 109th St, Troy, NY 12182).

There he became an expert at keeping the legendary ski-equipped LC-130s flying to Antarctica and Greenland year after year, retiring in 2014 after years of supporting the National Science Foundation.
