He was predeceased by: his parents, John W and Julia; and his sister Janet Parker. He is survived by: his former wife Deborah Orecki; his daughter Dr. Zoe Orecki of Wynantskill; and his siblings, Peter (MaryJane) of Wynantskill, Barbara McKinley (Thomas) and Joyce McPheeters (Wesley).

“I will miss John. He used to come to church early so he could sit in the quiet sanctuary before worship. John went through a lot, and he knew the grace and power of God to save. It was a blessing to sit in John’s garage and have an ice cream sandwich or two. I look forward to seeing John in heaven. I’m sad that he died, but I’m thankful he died in a hay wagon. I think it’s how he would have wanted it. Dave Martin”
