He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Shumpis and Marilyn Tofte Shumpis; his wife Joann Herring Shumpis; and his sister Gloria Shumpis. He is survived by: his children, Brian Shumpis (Candace), David Kohls (Lisa), John McTighe (Alynn), Darcy Gamache (Kohls) and Anna Desnoyers; and his siblings, Phyllis Sequin and David Shumpis. He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
