He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruby Leake Hayes Rogers and Martin Hayes Sr.; his brothers, William Hayes Sr., Victor Hayes and Martin Hayes Sr.; and his friend Jimmy Lanteigne.
He is survived by: his children, Paul Hayes II, Amber Hayes and Megan Huang (Andrei); his grandson Mason Huang; his brother Maurice Hayes; his nephew Martin Hayes, Jr.; his niece Delyn Guthrie; his great-nephews, Lance and Greyson Guthrie; and his friend Michael Guenette.
