She was predeceased by: her husband Roger Thomas; and her siblings, Richard, John, Shirley King and Jacqueline J. Miles.
She is survived by: her son John Richard Carter, I (Pamela); her grandchildren, Monika Mathis (Theodore), Charelle Carter-Brooks (Dorian) and John Richard Carter, II (Melissa); and her great grandchildren, Mia Rodriquez, Ellis Brooks, Marley Carter and Brielle Brooks. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
