She was predeceased by: her parents, Leon Kanter and Mae Deitch Kanter. She is survived by: her children, Alissa Hughes (Dan) of Delmar, Jeffrey Stulmaker (Robin) of Menands and Kenneth "Stu" Stulmaker; her granddaughter Frankie Jean Stulmaker of Loudonville; and her sister Rochelle Adams (David) of Lake George.

“I looked up to and loved my cousin.She of the perennial SMILING TRIBE.She was older And cooler than I but we appreciated each other. The view from her NYC apartment overlooking the Hudson River Was awesum. That was the last time we hugged. Always the optimist she fought some heavy shit demons and came through it more wizened in the end. I loved the thanksgivings together with her children, which did not happen enough. A tear and a cheer for my beautiful cousin SHIRLEY. Enjoy. Jim Marmar”
