He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry J. Hammond Sr. and Alice Hettie Landfear Hammond; and his siblings, Henry "Hank" J. Hammond, Jr. and Susan A. Santerre. He is survived by: his wife Ruth Yager Hammond; his children, William O. Hammond, Jr. (Kitty) of San Anselmo, CA, Leslie Hammond Heath, Robert Ducharme (Brooke), John Ducharme, Troy and David Ducharme (Melissa); and his grandchildren, Theo, Sophie, Alivia, Amber Heath, Amanda, Christian, Carolyn, Anthony, Mason, Owen Ducharme, Finn and Beck Weldon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. (276 Pawling Ave, Troy, NY 12180). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
