She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray A. Kniffen and Ella May Loucks; and her siblings, Lucretia "Punky" Loveless, Roselyn "Rosie" Seamans, Ruthann Griffiths, Marilyn "Jean" Sherman, Raymond Kniffen, Jeffrey Barnard and Richard "Dick" Kniffen.
She is survived by: her brother Kelvin Barnard (Sandy) of Homer; her children, Ray "Mike" Russell (Patti) of Cuyler, Bridget Yaple (Matthew) of Cortland, Tiffany Johnson (Ryan) of Homer, Josh Douglas of Geneva, Timothy "TJ" Casterline (Kim) of Cortland and Brittany Casterline (Andy) of Cincinnatus; her grandchildren, Taylor, Paige, Madison, Austin, Zander, Riley, Maddox, Mikey, Tristen, Kina, Kaylanah, Piper, Jase, Paxton, Lillian and Dawson; her great grandchildren, Aspen, Kole, Keaton, Kylan, Karla Ray and Leo; and her close friend Marianne "Mimi" Evangelista. She is also survived by four-legged children, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc. (9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland, NY 13045). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Truxton Academy SCA in Brenda's memory.
