It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sonia Hazle (Uniondale, New York), who passed away on September 4, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid Sonia farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Sonia is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

She is survived by: her husband Horace Hazle; her child Peter-Sam Hazle (Tiffany Hazle); her granddaughters, Maxine, Melissa and Marilyn Hazle; her parents, George Manning and Lucille Manning; and her sisters, Joycelin Brown (Trevor Brown), Sheila Nichols and Heather Manning. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hartnett Funeral Home (561 Jerusalem Ave, Uniondale, NY 11553). Viewing will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Hempstead Assembly of God Church (656 Front St, Hempstead, NY 11550). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Greenfield Cemetery (650 Nassau Rd, Uniondale, NY 11550).
