Charles E. Sands Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Charles E. Sands (Utica, New York), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 12, 2025 at the age of 86. Though Charles has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Sands and Phebe Sands (Sheik); and his daughter Charlotte Shanagher. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Lay; his daughters, Shelley Sands of Casper, WY and Anjanette "Annie" (Chad McLaughlin); his grandchildren, Ebin McLaughlin and Brianna Dupre; and his great grandchild Julian Paul Tocchini.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Multi-Purpose Room in the Acacia Village Lodge (2160 Bleecker St, Utica, NY 13501).
