He was predeceased by : his parents, John Hanretty and Hannah O'Mahoney Hanretty; his son Ronald Hanretty; and his siblings, James, Bernard, John Jr., William Hanretty, Anne O'Connor and Ellen White.

He is survived by : his daughter Colleen Titus (Charles); his grandchildren, Charles Titus, IV and Tonya Phillips Titus; and his sister Elizabeth Senter. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter.
