With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gail Owen McTiernan (Utica, New York), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 16, 2026 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Sweezey and Evelyn Sweezey (Lockwood); her sisters, Pam Jones, Diane Benoit and Sandra Sweezey; and her father-in-law Edwin McTiernan.
She is survived by: her husband Ed McTiernan; her sons, John (Leslie), Douglas (Kristin Owen) and Steven Owen; her grandchildren, Ashley, Michael Arcuri, Alison Owen, Jeff Daniels, Douglas Owen Jr. and Daniel Owen; her brothers, Edward, Rusty Sweezey, Michael and Yamany Sweezey; her mother-in-law Johanna McTiernan; her sisters-in-law, Linda (Marty Jin) and Anne Owen Mikalajunas; and her nieces and nephews, Richard Sweezey, Melissa Orr, Tanya Rosas, Keith Skermont, Jason Skermont, Eric Sweezey, Tim Sweezey, Nicole Jones, Kayla Jones, Donna Sweezey, Carmella Latchford, Jessica Menzel and Edward Sweezey.
