He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Burkle and Mary Ellen Burkle (Juckett); his stepfather Andrew Spellicy; and his brother J. Douglas Burkle. He is survived by: his sister Kristin L. Burkle of Clinton; his nephew Marcus Burkle (Joan) of Milwaukee, WI.; his brother Brian; his sister-in-law Tina Burkle of Birchwood, TN; his aunt Ella Blades of Rochester; and his uncles, William "Buddy" Juckett of London, England and Jim Bentley of Hebron. He is also survived by several cousins and many friends.
