He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Wergin and Hilda Wergin (Fenski); his daughter Monika; and his brothers, Peter and Hans.
He is survived by: his wife Erika Casties; his children, Hans Wergin, Wendy Lakeman and Karin Williams (Bob); his grandchildren, David Koscinski (Shannon), Judy Piccione (Anthony), Michelle Koscinski (Ryan Reynolds), Jennifer Roberts (Nick Nogas), Jonathan Roberts (Kole Moore), Ava Lakeman (Matt Sanchez) and Joshua Wergin; his great grandchildren, Daniel, DJ, Mason, Monika and Luca; his son-in-law David Koscinski; and his sisters, Helga Rush (Neil Roberts), Liz Kocyba (David) and Barb Kukulies (Horst).
The Wergin family extends a special thank you to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., the Alzheimer's Association, and the Utica Fire Department for the care and compassion shown to Klaus.
