It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Regina Thornton (Utica, New York), born in Troy, New York, who passed away on November 13, 2025, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Bishop Calvin Ashley, Jr.; and her siblings, Loretta Ashley (Gandy) and Ricky Ashley. She is survived by: her husband Gary W. Thornton of Utica; her children, Terrence (Tiffany Thornton), Yaron Israel "Gary" (Apolonia Thornton), William Thornton (Latiqua Darby), Candace Thornton (Andre Grace), Justin Thornton (Cherrelle Glover) and Jerel Thornton of Syracuse, NY.; her mother Glennys Ashley of Utica; her siblings, Fay Ashley (Bernard Harris), Christina Ashley, Anthony, Leslie Ashley and James Ashley; her grandchildren, Christopher Thornton, Amia Thornton, Jayden Thornton, Jayden Bush, Terrence Thornton Jr., Yair Israel, Anthony Thornton, Gianna Thornton, Alaya Israel, Yadyah Israel and Mckyenze Thornton; her nephews, Iyanna Ashley, Kevin, Annakay Ashley, Calvin Ashley, Joseph (Denise Sonkwa), Andrew Ashley (Victoria Ashley) and Alexander Ashley; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Kyndall, Kali, Aiden, Amabelle, Ashton, Chance and Kaysen; and her godchildren, Regina Brown and Ajahlai Smith. She is also survived by extended family members and friends.
