She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles H. Engler and Ada Engler (Ness); her husband Raymond O'Brien of John's Church; and her brothers, Janson Engler (Jack) and Charles D. Engler.
She is survived by: her children, Kathleen Kurtelawicz (late Richard Sr.), Karen O'Brien-DeBakey and Kevin M. O'Brien (Elizabeth); and her grandchildren, Laurie Steiner (Josh), Jill Ayres (Dan), Richard Kurtelawicz, Jr. (Kelly), Matthew O'Brien (Laura), Daniel O'Brien (Oana), Sean O'Brien (Crystal) and Aysel DeBakey. She is also survived by grandchildren and their spouses along with her great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM and at 11:00 AM.
Those who wish may donate in her memory to the Food Pantry of St. John's Catholic Church, 240 Bleecker Street, Utica, NY 13501 or to a charity of their choice.
