He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Walter Alexander and Edith Alexander (Filsinger); and his siblings, Eugene Alexander, Elaine Stone and Nancy Alexander.

He is survived by: his wife Connie; his children, Jason Alexander (Victoria) of Greenbrae, California, Corrie Cole (August) of Marblehead, Massachusetts and Eric Alexander (Courtney) of Auburn, California.; his grandchildren, Maria Alexander, Maddie, Cate Cole and Josie Alexander; and his sisters-in-law, Kathy Schlegel and Jenny Grey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
