He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Butler and Isabella Butler. He is survived by: his wife Debra Butler; his children, Marie Van Dusen (Matthew), Flora Negros (John Connolly) and John Negros; his grandchildren, Colson, Ellianna Rose and Eleanor; his brother Ed Butler (Helen); his grandmother Marie Dolan; his sisters-in-law, Patty Harrington, Janet Grisis (Gus), Theresa Preston, Linda Staudt (Ron) and Rose DiRienzo (Felice); and his pets, Cooper, Jaxon and Kitty. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local dog shelter in his memory, as his love for animals was one of the purest and most beautiful parts of who he was.
