It is with great sadness that we announce the death of LaVerta Mae Van Winkle of Vestal, New York, who passed away on June 9, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Swackhammer and Helen Swackhammer (Pierce); and her husband Charles Van Winkle. She is survived by: her children, David Van Winkle (Anita), Lois Edson, Donald Van Winkle and Ronald Van Winkle; her brother Richard Swackhammer; and her sister-in-law Kathleen Swackhammer. She is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
