He was predeceased by: his wife Jean E. Decker (Ward); the mother of his children Marion E. Decker; his father Munson Decker (Ingabee); his siblings, Harold Decker (Dorothy), Bertha Holdren (Clarence) and Frances Decker (Louis); his brother-in-law Robert Pomeroy; and his sons-in-law, John Braithwaite and Otto Root.

He is survived by: his sisters, Lillian Pomeroy and Beverly Decker; his children, Barbara Braithwaite, William Decker II (Anne) and Mark Decker (Suk); his stepchildren, Dennise Root and Dianne Nugent-Ward (Joanne); his grandchildren, John Braithwaite (Mary Beth) and Amy Wright; and his stepgrandchildren, Kevin Hantsch (Nichole) and Jennifer Hantsch (Scott Jennings). He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
