He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Dean and Gladys Dean; his sister Delores McKinney; and his brothers-in-law, Joseph Miller and Shawn McKinney.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley "Jo" Dean; his children, T. R. Dean (Janine), Michelle Sullivan (Chris) and Dawn Smith (Dave Hicks); his grandchildren, Tyler, Reilly, Connor and Quinn; and his sister Deanna Miller. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
