He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean Merrill and Mildred Gault Merrill; and his sister Patricia Bracamonte. He is survived by: his children, Dr. Michael Merrill (Melanie) and Karen Harkness (Bill Lang); and his brother Don Smith (Lisa). He is also survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
