He was predeceased by: his brother Patrick; and his nephew James. He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Daniel Jr., Steven and Kristen; his niece Tina; his granddaughters, Leonora and Alexandria; his siblings, Donald, Peter, Darlene, Anna Marie and Vernard; his uncle Gerald; and his aunt Marianne. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local food bank in his name.
