He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Leroy O'Brien and Joan McGarrigle; and his daughter Stephanie Renee. He is survived by: his wife Lena Y. O'Brien (Laroche); his children, Giovanni A., Brien of Montgomery, Christina Y. Kelly (Sean) of Walden, Peter L. O'Brien (Michèle) of Stamford, CT., Jessica A. O'Brien Vincenza (Reggie Dabalos), Christopher J. O'Brien of Montgomery, Steven R. O'Brien (Sarah) of Herndon, VA. and Brandon N. O'Brien of Montgomery; his siblings, Patrick O'Brien (Amy) of Littleton, CO., Joan O'Brien (John Silverman) of North Babylon and Margaret "Peggy" Casey of Dingmans Ferry, PA.; and his grandchildren, Jaidyn, Harlow, Wyatt, Monique, Gavin, Grayson, Grant and Miles. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gridley-Horan Funeral Home, Inc. (39 Orchard St, Walden, NY 12586). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Mary-Assumption Church (89 Union St, Montgomery, NY 12549). A burial was held on Wednesday, November 26th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery (111 Craigville Rd, Goshen, NY 10940).
In-lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Patriot Guard Riders or Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
