He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Ruter and Martha Ruter; his siblings, David Ruter and Marlene Ford; and his grandson Joseph Hull.
He is survived by: his former wife Johanna Koomans; his children, Paul Ruter II (Stacy) and Sarah Leonard (Doug); and his granddaughters, Sonja Hull and Chloe Leonard.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Reformed Church of Shawangunk (1166 Hoagerburgh Rd, Wallkill, NY 12589).
