He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph L. Gardepe and Ruth Gardepe (Bowdish); and his siblings, Raymond, Richard, Evelyn and Linda.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Gardepe; his sons, David "Gutsy" Gardepe (Cindy) and Duane "Skip" Gardepe; his grandchildren, Danica, Damien (Ashley), Chad (Hillary) and Jade (Dominic); and his siblings, Wayne "Spike" Gardepe, Barbara McLean and Carol Seward.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Walton Cemetery (55 Fancher Ave, Walton, NY 13856).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jim's name to the Trout Creek Fire Department.
