She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas DeMatteo and Anna Cooper DeMatteo; her husband Donald P. McManus, Sr.; and her siblings, Marion Shade, Sally Sanfilippo, Shirley Sheeley and Howard DeMatteo.
She is survived by: her children, Colleen McManus-Sarubbi (Joseph) of Boca Raton, Donald McManus, Jr. (Anne) of Poughkeepsie and Kathleen Ortolano (John) of Lagrangeville; her grandchildren, J. T. Sarubbi (Sara), Alisha Rolim (Ricardo), Nicole, Brett Sarubbi, John, Ryan and Kaitlin Ortolano; and her great grandchildren, Tripp Sarubbi, Ines Rolim and Bodhi Sarubbi. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gertrude's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
