She was predeceased by : her parents, Gustave Mitchell and Mary Baisely Mitchell; her husband James Nelson; her granddaughter Jennifer; and her brother Edward Mitchell.

She is survived by : her children, James Nelson of Poughkeepsie, Carol Ann DeVito (David) of Hopewell Junction and Margaret Thompson of Poughkeepsie; her sister Veronica Young of Queens; and her grandchildren, Jacqueline, James, Italya and Giavanna.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home (55 E Main St, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Church (11 Clinton St, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590).
