He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Bakke (Russell); his sister Lynda Bakke; and his close friend Matthew Hill. He is survived by: his son John Matthew Bakke; his father John A. Bakke of Warwick; his sisters, Eileen Astorino (Ben) of Warwick, Jean Gassaway (Evan) of Warwick and Jennifer Darvid of Monroe; his nieces and nephews, Gabriella Ruyack (Joe), Victoria De Filippo (Anthony), Joe Astorino (Meaghan), Olivia D'Ercole (Jake), Isabella Astorino (Zach), Will Gassaway, Joe Ruyack V, Giovanna D'Ercole and Antoinette De Filippo; and his friends, John and Patrick Hill.
