He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle James and Lucy Etta Stitham MacDougal; and his siblings, Merle, Joyce, Dale and Richard.

He is survived by: his wife Catherine Elizabeth MacDougal of Waterloo, NY; his children, James Alan "Jim" MacDougal (Kelly) of Waterloo, NY and Barbara Ann Butler (John) of Erie, PA; his grandchildren, Katherine and Paige Butler; and his brother Ray MacDougal. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
