She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Waelz and Emma Hannemann Waelz; her husband Alfred; her daughter Rita Sawall; her grandson Randy Gilbo; her sister Irmgard Grote (Waelz); her nieces, Janet Waelz and Inge Burgess (Sawall); and her nephew Walter Grote, Jr. (Dieter Sawall).

She is survived by: her children, Irene Barber (David), Gary Sawall (Mary) of Seneca Falls, NY, Alice Moses (John) of Red Creek, NY and Nancy Gilbo (Daniel) of Waterloo, NY; and her brother Winfried Waelz. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren.
