He was predeceased by: his brother Lee Paulsen. He is survived by: his wife Laura J. Gates Paulsen; his children, Daniel R. Paulsen of Waterloo, NY and Jodie S. Schemansky (Edward) of Gastonia, NC; and his grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Heather, Sarah, Megan, Mary Kate, Danielle and Evelynn. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A burial was held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at the White Haven Memorial Park (210 Marsh Rd, Pittsford, NY 14534). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Waterloo Sportsmen's Club (2654 Edwards Rd, Waterloo, NY 13165).
