He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Shimkonis and Stella Shimkonis; and his siblings, Olga (Dan Buckington), Ann (Corney Shay), Helen (Bill Gregory), Youlanda (Lloyd Hamilton), Steve (Alice Shimkonis) and Joseph Shimkonis.
He is survived by: his wife Jolan David. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
