He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman E. Cummings and Gwendolyn N. Cummings. He is survived by: his daughter Cheryl; his son-in-law Lance Evans of Watertown; and his sisters-in-law, Alberta Pitkin of Watertown and Joni Pitkin of Brownville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and great nephews; and numerous friends.

“I am very saddened to hear of the death of Dave Cummings a colleague for many years at WWNY TV. Dave was a consummate professional as he grew through the ranks to become Director of Operations. Throughout his career Dave always had time to share in a lively conversation with myself and others in our newsroom. Dave also had the time to play on our station softball and volleyball teams. I express my deepest sympathy to Dave’s daughter Cheryl and son in law Lance Evans.”
