She was predeceased by: her parents, Maurice Dodie and Gertrude Baker Helmer Sr. Dodie; her husband Walter Hyde; her daughter Debra Ann Hyde; her grandson Destin Nelson; her great grandchild Brinley Gerstenschlager; her son-in-law Joseph Gerstenschlager; and her siblings, Jeanette Baughman, Maurice Helmer Jr. and Donald Helmer.
She is survived by: her children, Mark Hyde of Watertown, NY, Cheryl Mahan of Watertown, NY, Dawn Gerstenschlager of Glen Park, NY and Crystal Nelson (Vincent) of Watertown, NY.; and her sisters, Bonnie Freeman of North Carolina and Flora Corey of Watertown, NY. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hart & Bruce Funeral Home (117 N Massey St, Watertown, NY 13601). A prayer will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at the Brookside Cemetery (19000 County Rd 165, Watertown, NY 13601).
