With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dortha Brown of Watertown, New York, born in Gouverneur, New York, who passed away on February 20, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Marcus P. Lawton and Alice E. Lawton (Beckstead); her husband Ralph C. Brown; her siblings, Virginia Eckert, Ione Cheney and Robert Lawton; and her former life partner Walter Eckert.

She is survived by : her children, Thomas Eckert Sr., Charles "Chuck" Brown, Donna Swanson (Eckert), Eva Staie (Brown), Tina Setterman (Eckert), Linda Cisco (Brown), Sallee Eckert and Mark Brown; and her brother Richard Lawton. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
