He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Mable Spellman Mercer and Alonzo Mercer; his wife Gloria Mercer; his children, Gregory Mercer (Danielle) and Petronia Shockley (Ronnie); and his siblings, Thurman Lamb, Elder Ronnie Mercer (Carrie), Elder Curtis Mercer (Valerie), Darryl Mercer (Jean), Elder Audrey Hallett and Lonnie Mercer. He was also cherished by six grandchildren; several nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends.
