He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Smith and Gertrude Smith (McDonald). He is survived by: his wife Melanie A. Bell of Paul's Episcopal Church; his children, Kyle J. (Amanda) of Dexter, Jaymeson S. W. (Hannah) of Watertown and Parker R. (Mackenzie) of Brownville; his grandchildren, Cierra, Tyler and Kinley; and his siblings, Steven Smith (Judy), Shawn Smith (LuAnn) and Stacey Smith (Jill). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and his cats.
In lieu of flowers, the Smith family asks that contributions in memory of Scott be directed to the Penn Medicine Cardiovascular Medicine Fund.
