He is survived by: his wife Jayne Schmidt; his children, Karen Canniff (Ryan Canniff) and Paul Schmidt (Ashton Dorsett); his grandchildren, Caelyn Canniff, Brynlee Canniff and Hattie Schmidt; and his brothers, Ronald Schmidt (Anna Marie) and Kenneth Schmidt (late Phyllis). He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
