He was predeceased by: his wife Eleanor Herkert (Farrell). He is survived by: his children, Donna Auxter, Cheryl Herkert, John Herkert (Kim) and Ken Herkert; his grandchildren, Nick, Sarah Auxter, Ashley Herkert (Dave Nesich) and Brett Herkert (Megan); and his great grandchildren, Zari Auxter, Noah Nesich and Brooke Herkert.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America or the American Red Cross in his memory.
