With sadness, we share the passing of Joanna W. Kinney of Waverly, New York. Joanna, born on May 14, 1936, passed away on October 11, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Hoyt and Nellie Walter Hoyt; her son David Kinney; her siblings, Robert, Richard, Sharon, Sandra Hoyt and Charlotte; and her grandson Aaron "Buzzy" Trudeau.
She is survived by: her husband Howard Kinney, Jr. of Waverly; her children, Kay Robinson (Chris) of Waverly, Claude Kinney (Pat) of Chemung, Nancy Wood of Waverly, Cathy Trudeau (Michael) of Chemung and Eric Kinney (Barbara); and her siblings, Claude Hoyt (Mary), Jerry Hoyt and Judy Brown (Charlie) of Owego. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Blauvelt Funeral Home (625 Broad St, Waverly, NY 14892). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at the Chemung Cemetery.
