He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his sons, Brian Thayer (Joan) and Daniel Thayer (Sylvia); his stepchildren, Kathy, Gerald, Lori, Lisa and Randy; and his siblings, Nancy Krull, Carol Dorfner and Craig Thayer (Cathy). He is also survived by several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Willard H. Scott Funeral Home (12 South Ave, Webster, NY 14580). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
