He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his sons, Richard P. Tompkins, Jr. and Robert Tompkins (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Richard III, Olivia J. Tompkins, Samuel, Charlotte and Benjamin Tompkins; his brother Robert Tompkins (Sally); and his sister-in-law Judy Johnson Peacock. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
