He is survived by: his children, Kimberly, Matthew McElwain (Amy) and Christina Whipple (Jeff); his grandchildren, Deirdre, Shea, Keegan McElwain, Jackson and Rebecca Whipple; his siblings, David (Karen), Steve McElwain, Linda Metcalfe (Mark) and Jim McElwain (Lara); and his close friend Tina Anderson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
