He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, to honor Steve, a donation may be made to the Journalism Department at St. Bonaventure where he built lifelong friendships, any Catholic or Protestant Ministry in a Hispanic community for Steve's ministry in Texas, a Traumatic Brain Injury Unit at a hospital, a cause close to Steve's heart, or to a music charity that works with people with disabilities, for Steve's love of music.
